The XT-48BN is a digital laboratory whiteness and brightness meter intended for production control and commodity inspection where the optical properties of white or light-colored materials must be evaluated.
Its stated sample range includes paper, paperboard, pulp, plastic, salt, industrial salt, starch, calcium carbonate, talcum powder and other powders. The test plate diameter must be at least 30 mm.
Supported measurement functions include D65 brightness, identified as R457 blue-light whiteness;evaluation of fluorescent whitening caused by fluorescent substances in samples containing fluorescent whitening agents;and the Y10 brightness stimulus value, described as the green diffuse reflection factor Ry.
