The M017B is a semi-automatic vertical flammability tester intended for laboratory evaluation of woven fabrics, knitted fabrics and nightwear materials. A specimen is secured in the U-shaped fixture, exposed to a flame for a selected period, and observed so the operator can document burning time and rate.
The instrument provides an ignition-time range of 0–99.99 seconds and a burning-time range of 0–999.9 seconds. Its ISO 6941 burner can be positioned at 0°, 30° or 90° relative to the horizontal level line. Testing flame height can be set to 20 mm or 40 mm.
The fixture has an 80 × 600 mm inner frame and an adjustable marking-line position. The listed machine dimensions are 80 × 55 × 66 cm (W × D × H), with an approximate machine weight of 45 kg. The specified electrical supply is single-phase AC 220 V, 50 Hz, and the listed combustion gas is butagas.
